Meta has announced that Arun Srinivas will become the Managing Director and Head of Meta India starting July 1, 2025. This change comes soon after Shivnath Thukral, the company’s Vice-President and Head of Public Policy in India, stepped down.

Arun Srinivas will report to Sandhya Devanathan, who recently took on a larger role managing Meta’s operations across both India and South East Asia. This leadership change reflects Meta’s strong focus on growing its presence in these fast-expanding markets.

Bringing Years of Experience to Meta India

Arun Srinivas is a seasoned professional with nearly 30 years of experience in sales, marketing, and business leadership. He holds a postgraduate degree from the Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata.

Before joining Meta in 2020, Srinivas worked with top companies like Hindustan Unilever, Reebok, Ola, and WestBridge Capital. Since joining Meta, he has led the company’s advertising business in India and played a key role in working with large advertisers and agency partners.

Under his leadership, Meta has focused on important areas such as artificial intelligence, Reels (short video content), and messaging services — all vital parts of the company’s strategy to grow revenue and innovate in India.

As the new India head, Srinivas will work on bringing Meta’s business, innovation, and revenue priorities together. He will support partners and clients while pushing for Meta’s long-term growth in India.

Who is Arun Srinivas?

Arun Srinivas joined Meta (formerly Facebook) in September 2020. His career spans over 25 years in sales, marketing, and leadership across various industries.

He began at Reebok in 1996, gaining early experience in brand building and regional sales. After five years, he moved to Hindustan Unilever, where he worked for more than 15 years. There, he led major product categories like Skin Care, Makeup, Beverages, and Foods across South Asia.

Later, he worked in private equity with WestBridge Capital, helping grow consumer brands like Vini Cosmetics and Enrich Salons. In 2019, he joined Ola as Chief Operating Officer and Global Chief Marketing Officer, managing all mobility services in India and leading Ola’s successful launch in London.

At Meta, Srinivas first led the Global Business Group for India, working with big advertisers. Since 2022, he has been heading Meta’s Ads Business in India, managing sales, creative, and measurement functions.

Academically, Srinivas holds a postgraduate degree from IIM Kolkata and a physics degree from the University of Madras. He also completed a strategic customer management program at Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University.
