In ahistoric move, the Narendra Modi government succeeded in removing the specialstatus provision to Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370. It is the biggestdecision of Modi government, came shortly after 50 days of the beginning of itssecond term. With this revocation order, Article 35A no longer exists. Thearticle defines the permanent citizens of the state and also defines therelationship of the state with the Centre.

As per thestatement released by Home Minister, Amit Shah, Jammu and Kashmir will be"reorganized" and will no longer be a state. Jammu & Kashmir willbe a Union Territory with Legislature, and Ladakh will also be a UnionTerritory but without Legislature. There will be two Lieutenant Governors whenthis provision will come into the force.

There will be numerous changes after this decision. To begin with, Jammu & Kashmir will no longer have it separate flag once Article is revoked.  As Jammu & Kashmir has become a Union Territory now so, all union laws would apply here.
