He raised the first Indian National Army, Azad HindFauj and also took the foundation of an armed coup against the British Empire. Duringthe late 1920s and throughout the 1930s, he became the leader of the radical,young wing of the Indian National Congress, and by 1938, he became the CongressPresident. Following differences with Congress high command and Mahatma Gandhi,he gave resignation from the Congress leadership in the year 1939. In 1940,before he escaped from India, he was placed under house arrest by the British.

Netajireportedly disappeared from his house in Kolkata and reached Germany in January1941. He sought the cooperation of Germany and Japan against the BritishEmpire. He initiated his regular broadcasts from Radio Berlin that arousedgreat enthusiasm in Indian, in January 1942. On August 18, 1945, Bose wasreportedly killed in an air crash over Taipesh, Taiwan.

Abandoning alife of ample wealth and stupendous comfort, this great fighter dedicated hislife to his motherland and resorted to whatever means needed to secure itsfreedom from the British rule. His war-cry of "You give me blood, I'll give youFreedom" is still a famous booster for the troops today.
