Lead Basis: When you are running any banner or link on your website and the cost calculation is based on the number of enquiries generated by filling the contact form after clicking on advertisement or any link. It generally calculates on CPL, Cost per lead basis.
Sale Basis: When you are running any banner or link on your website and the cost calculation is based on the number of transaction/sale basis. It generally calculates on CPA, Cost per acquisition basis.
Now, to monetize your website, the your should go for google adsense, initially google will not give you the approval for adsense, but there are various alternatives google adsense like, Amazon Associates, Shaadi Affiliate, Bigrock Affiliate, Filipkart Affiliate Infolinks, chitika etc.
You have to go to the respective website and login you will get the links & tags, you need to copy and paste the links where you want to display ads on your website.
