Three year old Startup – Letsintern launches world’s first internship app on Android

Letsintern is one of the largest platforms connecting students and organizations. Over last 6 months, it has attracted 300,000+ unique students and created more than 25,000 connections between students and organizations.

Letsintern now live on Google Play store. It is the world's first Android app dedicated solely to finding and applying to internships . This is just the beginning of the technology which you will see from Letsintern. We are working on some incredibly exciting stuff in our tech creation lab to utilize data available in public domain and other larger professional and social networks to better connect students and organizations.

One can expect to see incredibly rich data on each candidate, understanding their digital footprint and a plethora of supply-demand metrics on the student job market. This product aimed at the global market is slated for early 2014 release.

We chose on Android only strategy as 12% of our overall traffic is coming from Android up from about 2% last year, compared to iOS which stands at 4.2% up from 1.5% last year. We are still contemplating an iOS strategy with this version, but the 2014 release of Letsintern will be a launch across both the platforms.

The mobile app is in-line with our student first strategy, and on the back of the revenue model flip we did in April 2013. We stopped charging companies for posting, and moved to a student freemium model. Our introductory pricing strategy will be revised next month as we witness continued growth. To organizations we continue to provide improved data and tools to find and communicate with the best fitting young talent.

Letsintern co-founder and CEO, Rishabh says "Last year this time we began investing in our technology team, in one year we have really evolved to be a technology company powering connections from an internship services company. A lot of amazing work is in progress and will be released over the next 12 months. We are in for really exciting times as technology disrupts education in this decade"

Karan Kumar, lead developer for the android platform adds "The single screen app that we had visualized back in march, during our 1 week cool off period, was a big thing in june mirroring almost everything that happens on the website. After 12 weeks in development and 2 weeks of beta testing in august with 100 users, we are ready to be in your pocket"
